Budget & Finance Director, Tom KeverTom Kever, Budget & Finance Director

Tom Kever is a life long resident of Salinas and has been Finance Director for the City of Salinas since September 2003. The Finance Departments provides management, control and administration of all fiscal operations of the City of Salinas and Salinas Redevelopment Agency. The Finance Director supports the City Manager in budget development and determining long range financial planning.

Mr. Kever has thirty years of municipal finance experience. Prior to becoming Finance Director, Mr. Kever began work for the City in 1979 as a Senior Accountant, becoming the Accounting Officer in 1987. During the time the City was fiscal agent for the Salinas Valley Solid waste Authority
from 1999-2007, Mr. Kever acted as its Finance Director.

Mr. Kever is a member of the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, the Government Finance Officers Association and serves as a member on the Revenue
and Taxation Policy Committee for the League of California Cities.

Mr. Kever graduated from Salinas Union High School in 1973 and received his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Accounting from San Diego State University. While at San Diego State University, Mr. Kever was a member of the honorary accounting organization,
Beta Alpha Psi.
