Stormwater Development Standards

The October 2008 Stormwater Development Standards have been amended as required by the California Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board). The changes to the October 2008 Stormwater Development Standards as listed in the Regional Board letter of December18, 2008 entitled “Water Board Approval of Revisions to Salinas Stormwater Development Standards” have been incorporated in the Standards.

These new standards impact all new development in the City which create or disturb impervious surface areas greater than 5,000 square feet. These standards also apply to significant re-development with a net increase of 5,000 square feet or more of impervious surfaces. Please contact Dennis Richardson, Deputy Director of Permit Services at (831) 758-7434 with comments or questions regarding these standards.
