City of Salinas General Plan 2007-2014 Housing Element Update

As required by State law, the City of Salinas is in the process of updating the Housing Element to its 2002 General Plan. The current draft of the 2007-2014 Housing Element Update 
was considered by the Salinas Planning Commission on June 3, 2009, and will be considered by the Salinas City Council on June 23, 2009, for submittal to the California Department of Housing and Community Development. Copies of the draft Housing Element Update are available on-line or in hard copy at the Community Development Department located in City Hall at 200 Lincoln Avenue. Public outreach meetings are currently being scheduled to be held in advance of the City Council’s consideration of the draft Housing Element Update. Public Review Draft of Salinas Subdivision Ordinance Update

The City of Salinas has completed the Public Review Draft of the Subdivision Ordinance Update. This document, once adopted, will replace the City’s existing Subdivision Ordinance contained in Chapter 31 of the Salinas Municipal Code. The proposed regulations will apply to all or parts of subdivisions within the City and to the preparation of subdivision maps and other maps as provided for by the Subdivision Ordinance and the Subdivision Map Act. The deadline for written comments on the document has been extended from May 1, 2009 to July 1, 2009. There is no schedule established for public meetings or hearings on the proposed document at this time. The times and dates of all future meetings and hearings will be noticed and posted on this website.
