Advanced Planning
The Advanced Planning Division is responsible for the implementation of the City Council’s long-range land use and development policies, goals, and objectives as expressed through the City’s General Plan, Zoning Code and Subdivision Ordinance regulations. Using the City's General Plan for policy direction the Advanced Planning Division develops and implements more specific regulations governing zoning and subdivision of land. The Advanced Planning Division develops plans and policies relating to growth development standards and annexation proposals in the implementation of the city’s land use and development policies. The Division is responsible for coordinating with other public agencies on required planning issues related to the processing or preparation of specific plans and environmental documents for complex development projects in planned growth areas or redevelopment project areas.
