New Financing Program for Property Owners and Building Contractors
March 19, 2010
Beginning this summer (2010) property owners and building contractors will get new, terrific answers to your high energy bill (and carbon footprint) questions. The City of Salinas will be participating in a new financing program, called CaliforniaFIRST.
CaliforniaFIRST Property Owner Information
The CaliforniaFIRST Program allows property owners to defer payment of weatherization and solar projects over time. It provides financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects on homes and businesses. For participating property owners, the cost of the project is repaid on your property tax bill over up to 20-years. Financing eligibility is based on the value of your property and the current status of property tax payments, not on personal credit.
CaliforniaFIRST Launch: Summer 2010
The CaliforniaFIRST Program is scheduled to roll out in Salinas, and elsewhere in Monterey County beginning in summer 2010. Sonoma County, the Cities of Berkeley, Palm Desert and other communities all have successful similar programs. Click here for more information.
