Wastewater
Maintenance
The
Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department is charged with
developing and implementing the maintenance goals in the activities
listed below. For questions regarding Wastewater Division activities

Storm
Drain Maintenance -This activity, part of the Clean Water Program,
provides for storm drain and open channel maintenance prior to winter
rains, removes pollutants from the waste stream prior to runoff
to the environment through best management practices (BMP's) and
insures safety from local flooding.
Street
Sweeping - Provides cleaning of City streets to maintain a clean
environment for residents and to remove debris, trash and pollutants
before they enter the storm drains that lead to local waterways
Sanitary
Sewer Maintenance - Insures the environment and public health
are protected by maintaining the sewer system in a safe, reliable
and sanitary condition.
The
Industrial Waste Facility - Provides an economical and environmentally
acceptable means of water treatment and disposal of process water
from local agricultural industries and others with process water
requirements
Our
goal is to perform those maintenance and repairs to the infrastructure
that contribute to the health of the region and presents a clean,
safe and sanitary environment for residents, businesses and visitors
to the city of Salinas.
