Salinas Animal Services

Thank you Salinas Valley Community Church for volunteer day!

Salinas Animal Services would like to thank Salinas Valley Community Church (SVCC) for the fantastic show of generosity from its 2008 Serve Day on Sunday, April 27.  Over 60 members of the church came to the animal shelter located at 144 Hitchcock Road to work on a number of projects including:

  • Building a 200 ft. redwood fence to complete a large dog play yard
  • Building and painting dog play yard equipment
  • Cleaning and decorating the rabbit and small animal room
  • Painting the front entrance sign
  • Spreading out over 20 loads of wood chips in planters
  • Planting new plants around shelter entrance
  • Cleaning and organizing storage shed and food rooms
  • Helping with laundry and dishes

"These projects would not have been able to be completed without the help of SVCC. This contribution from our community made a huge impact and was a testament to what a community can do when they work together, " says Cindy Burnham, Animal Services Manager. "We invite the public to stop by and see how nice the shelter looks and even more importantly, come out and adopt a new pet or look for your lost one!"

Salinas Animal Services is located at 144 Hitchcock Road in Salinas and is the 2nd animal shelter on Hitchcock Road.  Hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday from 12-5pm.  For more information, please call 831-758-7285 or visit our website at www.ci.salinas.ca.us/animalservices If you have lost your pet from within the City limits of Salinas, please visit the shelter immediately to look for your lost pet.
