MINUTES OF MEETING

MARCH 8, 2005

 

The Agency convened in regular session at 4:40 p.m. in the Rotunda.

 

Present:

Chairperson Anna Caballero

Agency member Janet Barnes

Agency member Gloria De La Rosa

Agency member Jyl Lutes

Agency member Roberto Ocampo

 

Absent:

Agency member Maria Giuriato

Agency member Sergio Sanchez

 

Also Present:

CONSENT RESOLUTION

Upon motion by Agency member Lutes and second by Agency member Barnes, the Agency adopted the Consent Resolution by unanimous vote of those members present.

 

1.                  Approved minutes of March 1, 2005.

2.                  Approved the Financial Claims Report.

 

CONSIDERATION

1.      Agreement with DKS Associates to prepare a Downtown Parking Management Plan and Funding Agreement with Monterey County for the Parking Management Plan; and consider other recommendations of the Oldtown Salinas Association (OSA) for downtown parking.

 

Alan Stumpf, Redevelopment Director, presented his report.  He stated that this is not a proposal for parking meters but rather a proposal for a downtown parking management plan in order to efficiently manage this resource and be responsive to users. 

 

Luis Alvarez, Chair of OSA Parking Committee, spoke in support of the parking study and funding agreements.

 

AGENCY ACTION

Upon motion by Agency member De La Rosa and second by Agency member Barnes, the Agency adopted RESOLUTION 822 approving an agreement with DKS Associates to prepare a Downtown Parking Management Plan and to approve a funding agreement with Monterey County for the parking management plan.  Absent:  Agency members Giuriato and Sanchez.
