BOARD OF APPEALS The Board of Appeals determines the suitability of alternate building materials and methods of construction and provides reasonable interpretations of the provisions of the various building codes. The Board is composed of five members who serve indefinite terms at the pleasure of the City Council. Members are exempt from residency requirements. However, they are involved in Salinas through their business or employment. Meeting Schedule: The Board meets on call. Chief - Fire
