DOG LICENSES
Per Chapter
7 of the Salinas Municipal
Code, all dogs and cats four months of age and over residing within the City
limits are required to have a current rabies vaccine. Dogs are also required to be licensed and must wear their license tags.
Licenses may be purchased at any time either
by mail or by visiting City Hall or Animal Services.
A
current rabies vaccination certificate is required to obtain a license.
Vaccinations can last from one to three years, depending upon the
medication used. The certificate must be valid for the entire licensing
period.
A veterinarian's certificate is required in order to obtain the
reduced license fee for a spayed/neutered animal unless this fact
is recorded on the rabies vaccination certificate or old license.
