It
is our goal to recruit, train, utilize and recognize volunteers
who help enhance services provided to the community. As you consider
taking the first step by making a commitment to volunteering, we
want to assure you that we will do our best to provide you with
a meaningful and rewarding experience. We also invite you to provide
input on how to continue to meet you needs.
Mission
The
City of Salinas recognizes the desirability and value of enlisting
concerned and committed persons to aid in providing governmental
services. The City of Salinas Volunteer Program will support and/or
supplement, but not supplant, the work of the regular paid staff,
enhance services to the public and assist a diverse population of
students and community members. Volunteering will be designed to
provide enjoyable, challenging and effective use of skills and talents
and encourage participation in government services by our citizens.
The Volunteer Program benefits the City, the community and the volunteer.
The end result is to prove a better quality of service to Salinas
residents.
